Does anybody have a write up on how to pull an ls1 block, I am down to just the block? Do you remove it from the top or from under the car? It's a mannual transmission.

unbolt the bell housing and motor mounts. Unbolt the flywheel. place a chain throught the long motor mount stand and lift it from there. I did nime a few weeks ago alone it was really easy this way. Make sure to place a jack stand under the tranny. When you reinstall the motor place the chain on the front of the motor using a bolt from the accessory holes like the ones right below the heads. hoist the engine into position and lower it. Before doing so remove the lower motor mounts (the ones that bolt to the car. This will allow you to move the engine back to the bellhousing, bolt everything in the lift the motor and put the mounts in place. It took me 2 hours to get the motor in throught the top this way yesterday.

Does anybody have a write up like that for removing the block from the top I already have the heads off and I think it will be better to pull it from the top.
