Default trying to build oil pressure on new motor

Ok guys, Im finishing up my v6 to v8 swap, its a brand new forged 347, new heads, new cam, everything.

Here is what WASNT hooked up;
low oil level sensor
iac
tps
ac line

jumper wire to make all 8 cylinders fire instead of 4.

I pulled the fuel pump fuse, and just wanted to see if they motor would attempt to crank, and try and build a little pil pressure. Car tried to crank everytime, but oil pressure never moved off of 0. Would any of the following cause this, or will i see ANY oil pressure doing this?

I would just hook everything up and kick it over. My car built pressure right when I started kicking it over.

sometimes its a SOB getting oil pressure, esp if you didnt pack the pump with grease or thick oil-i had to overfill mine, jack up the rear to try and let oil run into the pump, finally got pressure

so just to start the motor it would be acceptable to put extra oil in the car?

It probably took 5-8 seconds before I started to see the pressure build up.
