It all depends on your opinion on driveability. Any agressive cam of that size is not going to feel anywhere close to a stock or even mild cam. It's going to want to thump, lobe, and surge more than a less agressive cam would.

Tuning is very key as mentioned above by TSP, but even with a perfectly tuned computer, its still not going to be as easy to drive in town as a less agressive cam would.

Best thing would be to get a ride if possible in someones car that has the MS4, and MS3, and see for yourself which would be the more ideal cam for you as far as driveability and power goes.

If you can't find a ride, check out as many vids, threads, dyno graphs as possible. Both are killer cams for power. Its just wheather you want to side with more power and less drivability with the MS4, or go for less power and more driveability with the MS3. As previously mentioned by me, you can easily make up the difference in power by going with a more agressive head selection with the MS3 (without flycutting the pistons that is).

Get him Matt! That ought to cost you a TSP T-Shirt(with a pocket). Ryans got my 98 Computer kicking ***. I don't why people think the MS3 is a better daily driver than a MS4. I'm still running factory AC around town daily driving an MS4.
If your car is so bad you've got to let the thermostat open before you can drive it then it needs help bad. CALL911, Call a tuner or call a cab.

Mine is the MS3, and it drives just fine. The MS3 is a milder cam, and will have better drivability than the MS4 (thats why its easier to drive than the MS4). I was refferring to comments made by others that have the MS4 on their opinion that it is too much for a DD for most.

When the MS4 came out, GMHTP magazine had an article on it and TSP even stated then that the MS4 for a DD would only be for the hardcore driver enthusiest.

I have a MS3 and enjoy the topend.
It was a bit sloth like down low,
but complimenting gears and stall really flipped that around.
I have no driveablitly problems.
Here is a link that might help.

Thanks for all the opinions, since I dont know anyone with either cam in their car around, I have been checking every video and graph and opinions of yours for the best ideas of what I want to do.
I really would like to keep the stock 342 gears and a wil sacrifice power for street driveability and would like to leave the heads alone unless I have to do a head gasket ot something that requires the heads to come off but I imagine they would anyway since I really outta replace the lifters w/cam with 76K miles on her. One tech at TSP suggested the Torquer 2 cam for my intentions as oppossed to the MS3 or 4.

It sems like from what I hear, I can run an aggressive cam and make the big power #s from it and drive it as long as the tune is spot on. I guess I better now research who the top names for tuning in the biz are.
I'd consider it worth my while to drive great lentghs to get the tunwe done right the first time and enjoy the car thereafter.

Thx for ALL your help and keep the thoughts coming.
Much appreciated, thats why I love this forum.

best forum ever for LSx knowhow (and other cars sometimes) [props to PSJ and NB]

but good job, keep searching. check any kind of combo out there. the dyno results & comparisons is a great place to start. also, check out the racing sections and pick where you goal is (i.e. 10,11,12 second clubs) and thatll help too.
