HEY DUMBASS, wtf are you talking about.

1. i dont drive a ford, I USED TO, hence the camaro in my sig.

2. yes it did drive just fine, loud as hell but just fine. BTW i had to drive it like that one day to the muffler shop.

3. when did anybody say that open headers were faster than running exhaust? i said it would drive fine.....temporarily to everything got put back togethor

4. take a valuum and chill the hell out.

oh by the way who gives a **** if you are in the tens? why the hell would u hijack a thread to rant and rave like a *****? grab a tampon, maybe some mydol and come back when u can give advice to people who need it.

now we will return to our regular programming

way rich is not fine.it runs like ****.

but being its from blown stang and the last ford guy i smoked had a plate that said 500hp and i whooped him with prob honestly 450 at the crank.

runnen fine for me and a fastest thing on earth ford guy are 2 diff things

so yeah maybe it runs good with the ltft's @ +50 or something stupid like that

but not for me you can't run open headers with the o2's 1" from open air

must have a custom ford tune.**** they don't need o2's

they are fine with out them

trust me when i break into the 10's this weekend i won't have open header's and my ltft's will be in check

read up and learn how to make power and go fast not pull the exh and sound fast

well i went out to the shop today, and its a hick *** place that got the "drag race cam" idea from a book of cams and ****. it said "due to the fast ramp rate of the xe-r lobes, this is a drag racing only cam" or something to that effect.

i took pics on a friends camera, but they didnt have anything but the stripped down heads and the valves (which were in a cardboard box). they lost the lifters, go figure, among other parts they lost. this place was terrible. it was full of rusted old blocks, crankshafts everywhere, and oil pans over our heads. there wa shardly any room to move amongst the rusted old crap. needless to say, this place blowsssssss. i told my friend to get his car outta there ASAP, but they owe them 3 grand and counting, and all theyve is tear the block down and put breaks on (plus holding time!)!!

let me put it this way, i told them that the torquer 2 is not a drag cam and that he must not know ls1s, and he said "i dont know what an ls1 is but my book says this motor should not be running that huge cam"

***** this. well, at least its not my money.

Yeah, there is just so much **** wrong with this whole situation. Its alot worse now that I've checked it out for myself. I told him to just pull it outta the shop and we all can figure it out. His dad doesn't think we know more about LS1s than the shop (plus hes paying for it, the dad that is) so its their loss. Our little group has a lot of combine knowledge and with ls1howto and ls1tech, we can't go wrong.

Like I said though, not my car, my money, or my problem so no sweat off my back. His dads pockets just got a little lighter though.

WOW just WOW.

**** like this make me wonder where the **** some people find these rattyass shops instead of a good reputable shop in their area. Why the **** would you take your car to a place like this & leave it there after seeing their shop?? I'd never leave my car somewhere like that. I mean damn people use some basic friggin common sense.

I'd say if that car stays there not only will your friend be out about $5k shop labor but also probably another $4k to fix whatever these redneck bastages tear apart.

exactly what im telling him. they wanna do work on the heads and then theyll rebuild the engine so all that plus labor will be like 6-7k easy. i told him to just cut his losses, take to our local LSx shop, and get it done right. right now he just needs to buy some cheap heads, ive been looking through the for sale for him. they even wanted to install his clutch, but his dad dont think we can do all this cuz were all 17-21 years old. we have a friend who offered to rebuild it if he buys new heads for $200 and a case of beer. I should have taken pics inside of the "engine rebuild" shop there, you guys would have died.

Wow, I feel bad for the kid, and his dad. LSx motors are so different from a gen II small block that unless you're familiar with the differences you can really cause some damage. Did you ever find out what exactly went wrong with the car? They sound like some scam artists based on what you've told us. You should refer your buddy to this site, then maybe he can talk some sense into his pops.

I've showed both of 'em the thread. His dad is really the problem, the kid knows he's getting fucked over, but its not his $$. We know the car is fucked up, it backfired alot (from the 02's as someone said) and there was jsut alot wrong with it. When it finally took a **** on him, it was not the cams fault, so no fault goes to TSP here. The shop was right about what went wrong with the car, kind of, in that the (stock) lifters did fall. But they are trying to say it was the cam is where they went wrong. They know what goes wrong in engines, but know noting of gen III motors. ****, those rusted old block I was staring at all over may have been from Gen I cars.

I dont expect your friends engine to last after it does make it out of a shop like you described. for the love of the LSX, get it the hell out of there. Ill even put it back together for a case of beer and him being there willing to learn if you lived near me.

They need to go and tell the shop to stop all work form this point on. Pay what ever they owe and get it out of there. By the time these jokers are done with his car he could of had a 402 H/C car for the $.

I didn't know he was changing cams in the first place. His dad gave him $800 for new tires and he randomly showed up at my house with an untuned, open header torquer 2. I figured he knew what he was getting into, and should have taken care of, but oh well, guess not.
