Thumbs up id 5.3?

Can someone help me find some info id'ing newer truck blocks? Ive found several 5.3's but the casting says both 5.3 and 4.8 on it. Just wanna make sure im getting what i want. Thanks.

Option 1: Check the 8th digit vin of the vehicle that its being taken out of. 99-06 Had a T "non flex fuel" or Z "flex fuel", both will inter-change. There is a 8th digit vin "B", but its an aluminum block HO version that came available in the 06 SSR and a few trucks.

Option 2: Pulled the heads and check the pistons. 5.3 has dished/low compression 9.5:1 and 4.8 has flat-top 10:1 compression.
