Any problems with oil pumps ???

Any problems with oil pumps ??? Alright, I fired that biatch up. I found a race car was in my garage! Woohoo!
Now for the problem. I let it idle for about 20 seconds (3 different times) and never saw any friggin oil pressure. I even disconnected the the coils, removed the oil filter, and turned it over enough to build pressure (if that would work), but I never had a drop come out of the oil filter fitting. I even removed some of the valve cover bolts. I assume there would be some splash oil on them (or on the shaft surrounding the bolt), but there was no evidence of oil.
Any ideas? I did replace my stock oil pump with a ported Katech pump. Do they have to be primed? Could air be stuck in there somewhere? I know I reconnected the pickup tube and put some RTV around the flow hole going to the block.
Car sounds damn good coming straight out the headers and collectors. Man, I don't want to have to swap oil pumps though.

Re: Any problems with oil pumps ??? Check the pickup tube o-ring first, did you replace it with a new o-ring? I use a dab of grease to help install the tube w/ new o-ring into the pump. At least its a C5, you don't have to lower the oil pan.
