Default cam damage

i've been set on getting a futral f14 for my '02 M6 car, but when i was with my friend getting his car tuned, a guy had a used f13 cam for sale for $250. it looked good besides some light abrassions on one end where it rides on the cam bearing. he said it could be polished out and it'd be fine. another guy i was with agreed with him but i'm a little worried about buying used internal engine parts. do you guys think i should go for it, or just save another $150 for a new f14?

If you have the patience I would save my money for a new F14

I would be careful about buying it and just save for a new cam.

yea I wouldn't waste the time or money on a used cam that already has damage. Just wait and get a new one.

Shoot me a pic of it, I'll tell you if it's alright or not.

And FWIW, there's virtually no power difference between the FM13 and 14. I've done the swap between the two and saw noting except a little driveability loss in the 14. The 13 is the better cam IMO.

I was just wondering becuase my buddy Brandon (slmdls1) was running that cam and messed up his motor...so he swapped in a BIG motor and said that his cam was still perfectly fine. I almost bought it for my z28 when I had it...if it is him selling it you have nothing to worry about. I don't know MR. BOND

if i can get ahold of him to send me a pic, i'll forward it to you. but he might have already sold it. and that's interesting. i might reconsider the fm13 then.
