slp oil pump, which spring??

I am installing the SLP/melling oil pump on my forged LS6 , it comes with a extra spring, what spring should use , the higher press ure one???
I dont want to end up with 80psi at idel.

Considering the built bottom end and the procharger you should go with the heavier spring in my opinion. I did with my forged 370 and D1SC. You should see about 5 more PSI at idle over the regular spring, its not some crazy difference, just a few more PSI.

what spring is already in the pump when shiped??
what oil pressure are U seeing ? you have the SLP pump?

Hey buddy. I have the pump and used the red spring. It is the hd spring. The pump will come with the weaker blue spring in it. You will need a 8mm allen socket to get out the stop. With my setup I have 40psi at hot idle and 60 at wot.

I have the SLP oil pump but my motor is still going together right now actually, I am going off all the research I have done for the last few years in setting up my combo.
