Water Pump R&R instructions
2) Remove lid/maf/bellow tube assembly (just loosen the hose clamp where the intake connects to the throttle body and pull the whole intake piece off in one piece.
3) With pliars pull off all 4 hoses from the water pump.
4) Remove all 6 10mm bolts that hold the water pump to the block. One will probably require a box wrench to loosen, and it wont be able to be totally pulled out as its going to hit the pump itself (it'll still come totally unthreaded tho). Remove the pump.
5) If you have a 98, scrape the gaskets off, if you have a 99+, no scraping needed. Put new gaskets on, and reverse the process. Put all 6 bolts back on and tighten them to 11lbft, then, in a 2nd pass torque them to 22lbft. Again one bolt will be hard or impossible to get a wrench on so just make it tight as the others by feel.
6) when refilling coolant give it time to work the air out, and it sometimes helps to leave the hose that runs from the TB to the radiator fill neck loose so air can escape. Run the car to full temp with the cap off and if the fluid level drops any refill it while the car is running. Put cap back on and you're set.
