Got sidetracked when my son got hurt. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks
The block bore cleaned up at 4.040
The pistons should be here next week. I was working on the heads today. Had the new springs, seal, shims ect. My heads are machined for 1.460 big block springs. I am using the Kmotion K-800 valve springs. 160# on the seat @1.850 height. Decided to lap the valves when I found some bad pitting on a couple of them. I will have to get them ground.
The other sidetracking was I had to put my original engine in the car so it could go to the fabricator to use as the mock up for a new F-body turbo kit. It has taken alot of my time so the engine has been back burnered. I hope to assemble it in 2-3 weeks.

Man your spring compressor rocks. What is the thread for the stud to do that job like that? Also have you ever tried to do that in the car?

Got my junk back from the machine shop

Started assembling the heads first. installed the new valve seats. Measured and shimmed the valve springs. Over 200 psi spring pressure on the seat.

took the mains off and prepped it for testing the bearing clearance with platigage

checked runout on the reluctor ring and end play on the crank

Assembled the pistons

Filed the ring set, then installed them on the pistons. My fingers hurt, that is tedious work

Took the crank back out. I need to clean and brush the oil passages and start with final assembly.

^ It is a GT55. It should be around a 91mm.

It is nice to see your progress. When I put my engine together I want to do something like this that documents each step.
