Oh, that works then if they are MLS, and has bolts. I will also be buying headers from you guys, but that is something totally different then this thread is intended for.

About installation..I know this isn't a one day job. If I take my time, read all notes, and check, and double check, would I really have a problem installing these myself? If so, about how much would all this cost to be installed? Thanks.

I should shut up when not sure of something...thanks for fixing that..

and OP, I would go ARP anyway, you can reuse them and when you decide to spray, its never enough!!

I was thinking 75jet at first, but ended up with the 150...and I'm really glad!!

Oh, I would spray 150. But right now, that isn't priority. Right now is get it running the way I want too, the nitrous can be added later once money comes in again. I guess since the heads will be off, I could do it. Can that job be done with the heads on easily, or no?

Just to clear up a few things:

We build everything from a shorth block to a crate/turn key. As such we carry all the components needed from oil pump pickup tube bolts to All Pro heads.

The OP was looking for lower budget heads, which I do not carry so I suggested a vendor I know to have budget oriented heads and that carry's all the parts he was looking for.

Do not confuse this to mean we do not carry a full lineup of LSx performance parts. It's quite the opposite. We only carry GM performance parts
(and a series Ford racing engines for the dark side)

My website is a work in progress, appologies for that. I spend most of my time helping people and making product.

If I were to go with higher end heads though, I would be contacting you further. And if I were to get a new engine, I would from you. The prices are great on your 408 short blocks.

So want to link me to a good write up about cleaning the bolt holes and whatnot like you were saying? Also, for how long will you honor what you said, like the oil pump price I stated on your site, vs what you guys now have it listed, and about the ls7 lifters?

Your welcome. I would try to do the same if I had a shop. Customer service goes along way, regardless of who the customer is gong through.

www.ls1howto.com

It will show you how to clean the crap. Dont worry, I did clean like I was supposed to each time I lifted the heads, I just thought I read somewhere that with the *ARP STUD*(not ARP bolts/GM bolts like me) that once you installed em one time right, that you were good for future head removal without going over the cleaning step for it because they were already in so no danger of having coolant and gasket crap getting into the holes..

By the way you can reuse ARP bolts 3-5 times(not GM bolts) so its worth the money I say.

This site paired with LS1tech is the bible for every mod I did on my SS. Worked out nice everytime.

I have ls1howto saved in my favorites here at work lol. I was going off that site when I was going to do my ls6 intake swap untill I got the manifold in and it was broken. Whatever....How bad will I be choking the motor if I keep my stock intake on when I finish up the swap? I don't want to use it, but we will have to see what happens with funds and ****.

Johnny, you have your own write up for cleaning out the holes?

On ls1howto, look in the heads/cam swap article (http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=2) and it will have the info. on how to clean out your head bolt threads. Going to a LS6 intake after the heads cam would probably net you in the neighborhood of 10-15 to the tires and 25+ going with a FAST 92mm combo.

Yea, I would like a FAST...but money. Plus I need to buy exhaust. LTs and True Duals for the time being, then I'll get the intake mani after the head swap I think. Yea, after I posted the question about the head bolts, I read the article and it had everything I need. Now I need money, parts, and time.
