Default What heads to buy?

I have a '99 z28 which has stock internals. It does have a LS6 intake and 85mm tb. The car has 853's on it now but wanting something better! Just curious about aftermarket heads to buy. Just want to hear some stories on what people has used. Likes and dislikes. I am willing to spend $1700 or less for a set of assembled heads. Just wanting to know which ones to look at and which ones to stay away from. I am sorry but my car has never been on the dyno so I dont the hp or torque ratings. I am thinking about doing a cam swap at the same time but dont know which one to go with either. Any advice on a head and cam swap for $2500 dollars or less would be appreciated. Thanks!

Get with Texas speed & Performance or any of the sponsors to be honest. Non of them will lead you down the wrong path

only problem with that is by the time you buy the heads and valvetrain then the port job...you might as well just buy the CNC heads

I would choose a cam first so you dont mill the heads too much and have Piston to valve clearance problems.

I'd go the opposite direction. How do you know which camshaft works best for your combo, if you don't already know the rest of the combo?

OP: Give us a call and we'll be glad to help with your combo! We do ALOT of engine and chassis dyno testing on all our combos to ensure they are amongst the best available!

Would you recommend LS6 or 5.3 heads for my car? What stage head and cam size for my car? Just wondering about a good setup for the mods I have now. Thanks!
