Default Why does the oil pressure drop?

After about five 20-120 mph WOT runs during my tuning session I noticed my oil pressure was 10-20 psi. I freaked out at first when I pulled over.. I was crawling under the car (dark out)to make sure the filter hadn't come off or something.. It was fine after the car sat for about 10 minutes.. Now understandably I don't drive it that hard all the time without a cool down period, but is what happened normal and could that cause any damage? I've been told this problem is due to the use of a conventional oil and wouldn't happen with Redline. True? I have a Katech oil pump and the pressure is normally 80 when I hammer it and 50-60 @ idle.. I'm on the 3rd 500 mile interval of my break-in.. I'm, using Pennzoil 10W30 for breakin.. I'm planning on switching to either mobil1 or Redline 10w30 after I hit 1500 miles.. I have about 1200 miles on my motor since the machine shop and assemmbly.

Thanks

very possible.....before I installed my oil cooler the oil temp was almost ALWAYS 220-230 degrees just driving around....on WOT runs it could go as high as 250-260....

at those temps, conventional oils brake down (get very thin) so you loose pressure......switch to Mobil 1 and you should be good to go....
