#7 piston came apart
#7 letting go sucks
Seeing that makes me really want to put a PCV catch can on my car.
It's never fun when something breaks but it does open the window to upgrade etc. Wish you the best with getting the car back on the road ASAP.

My sig shows I've got 42lb injectors. With a stock fuel pump. My tuner would know my cycle duty. I'm sure it's fairly low.
11's AFR on a NA motor seems pig fat rich to me! We used to run 13.5:1 AFR all day long on our pump gas 12:1 SCR racing atvs. I'll have to read up on 11's AFR.

I said mid 11s.
I don't know ... With a compression ratio of 11.33:1, afrs beyond mid 12s,
stock fuel pump, pump gas ... In all honesty, I'm not real suprised
that engine failure occured.
And as 04gtod and vettenuts mentioned ... #7 has a tendency to run
a little lean.
For the sake of discussion... If you would've had engine failure
with a racetronix fuel pump or similar, higher octane fuel or a more
conservative tune... I would be surprised that engine failure would occur.
There has to be a reason.
Using a stock fuel pump with upgraded injectors....
Lastly vettenutts is one of the most experience, knowledgeable
and repected members on LS1Tech. Any input he gives will be credible.

That was an interesting read.
Once you start tuning it's a good idea to monitor and/or datalog
your engine's vitals... i.e... AFRs, EGTs, Knock Count, Timing.
I had two maps instantly available at the flick of a switch.
One for 101 octane and one for 91 pisstane pump.
Anyways ... In any event ... I'm real sorry about the # 7 in your
motor going kaput. Sometimes things can still break even when all
seems well. On your next build... PLEASE get a higher flowing fuel pump.
Here's some pictures of a setup I had a couple of years ago.
