vindicator or ms4?
This is for my 3700lb, 3500 stalled, GTO.
I have a 0.040 cometic gasket and unmilled ls6 heads.
As far as I've read, clearance should be fine, but I'll be putting in some fly cut pistons anyway.
Question is, will it make enough tq to get this boat to move? It's mainly a saturday driver and track car now. Don't care much about driveability.
I'm just worried if my stall will be big enough. I have 3.4x gearing right now also.
It will see nitrous on the track also.

You would be much better off with a 228/232. Look at the Streetsweeper-HT. Very popular on the gto boards.
MS4/Vindicator is WAY too much cam for a stock headed LS1/2. Especially since you are full weight and stock gears.
You need some midrange torque even with that stall to get that big ******* mama movin'!

One vote for the vindicator number's in sig it has good power off 3000 to 7000 but i would step up to a 4000 stall or a 3800 i love my vindicator with my stock ls6 long block. The stock ls6 heads and vindicator is a good hight power cheap setup.

my buddy is running the vindicator "UNTUNED" in his 98 SS M6 and that $hit straight up rips!! and it sounds so bad *** man. i was so surprised how drivable his car was untuned with a such a big cam. it didnt buck, surge or die out!!
Nieghter of those cams is the best choice for a stock headed street car. We're doing a GTO right now that is only getting 22X intake duration and will be south of 450rwhp with good lowend torque. Wanting to save your springs kinda limits your choices and may cost you more down the road.

While I'm not knocking the Vindicator or MS4, they're great max effort cams. But for a stock geared heavy pig GTO, the car is going to be dickless below 4500 rpms with any of the huge upper 230's/low 240's cams even with the stall IMO. You need a cam that's going to generate TQ to get the car moving, or it's not going to be a fast street car.
If you want to run a Vengeance cut, check out their X3 or X4. Both excellent cams, and make good TQ.
Neither.... Step down to our VRX5 camshaft. It will work VERY well with your current stall and give you the midrange power/torque you need without giving up alot of topend...

I allready have a TSP224R....Running 11.07 @122 on 125 shot and drag radials.
Is there a bigger cam that I can still run my 918's? I have 2 sets of these, if not, I'll just sell them.

id go ms3... your stall is a bit small for a ms4, or equal sized cam..
The MS4 comes in earlier than the MS3 and has slightly better low end torque. That's why they came out with it, to help regain the bottom end people were losing with the MS3.
Dude this car is a GTO which is a ******* fat momma at 3,700lbs. I'm not an expert, but even the sponsers talking in this thread agree a "big" cam is NOT the way to go.
He has stock heads so a big cam is going to lose more midrange torque then they would pick up on the big end do you not agree?
Can he run this cam and perform? Yes. How?
PT4400 at a Minimum, and a minimum of 4.56 gears in the rear would be probably his best chance to beat times he could run with a smaller cam with a much more streetable setup. I'm not ******* the MS3. MS4, or Vindicator; just saying it isn't the best cam for his build.
Now if he shaved off 500lbs then it would be a little different story; although I still wouldn't go with the donkey dicks with stock heads.
