I have no idea what the problem would be other than maybe the pickup tube from the pan, or the O-ring at the tube being pinched. Is the motor a crate engine or was it pieced together from home (no offense to you or anyone that took it apart and put it back together

) I had about the same problems after I did a H/C swap but never to the point where the car stalled because of it. With that said, my advice would be to NOT DRIVE IT. don't even turn it on with that kind of pressure...but i'll assume you knew that and have had it parked since the stalling issue.
