im ready to buy parts to start for my cam install. here is my list so far
cam
headers
prc valvetrain kit
ported ls6 oil pump
underdrive pulley
ls2 timing set

is there anything else i need for the install? im not doing the install myself im bringing all the parts to my tuner and having them do it.

 

gaskets?

 

they have like a cam install gasket set at auto parts stores thats like 50 or 60 dollars. thats what i got.

 

so the only thing im forgetting is gaskets?

 

Well, you got the cam and pushrods and spring kit. Underdrive pulley and timing set.
You want to make sure you have the correct tools, a good puller and spring tool make the job much easier.

The gasket kit should include the exhaust, waterpump and timing cover... although if you don't mangle them you could re-use the timing cover and waterpump ( wont be the first time someone did that)

SDPC has a couple kits (I carry them as well) that will have all the gaskets and bolts you need. One is a GM kit and is not as complete as the Scoggins kit. Price difference is about 100 with the Scopggin kit being more complete (so more expensive)

Maybe poly motor mounts while your at it.

 

i also bought hawks balancer installer and tims valve spring tool and dowel rods from home depot to hold the lifters up.

 

i am not doing the install myself. im bringing it to my tuner to do it.
