Default P0301?? Misfire HELP

to start it off the car always runs great, But to day I went out to start the car it was about 19degrees out and i could feel it misfire, I just figured it was super cold and the motor did not like that, then it threw the p0301 code. I scanned it it said cyl 1 misfire, I erased it and it turned off and the car drove fine and didnt come back on. Tryed to do a search but not much came up for my situation, the car ia a 1999 Z bone stock with 90,000 miles. What do you guys think could be causing this? should I look into putting a new set of plugs+wires on it?? any help would be awsome.

Also the MAF is descreened, I have been trying to buy a stock one that is not touched because I have not had a smooth idle. do you think this could have caused a problem because of the cold?

for the idle problem have you done an idle re-learn when the descreened maf was put in??? and as far as the 301 code goes if it hasn't came back i wouldn't worry about it, it probably was because it was cold outside although that's funny it would only throw it in one cylinder it would usually just throw a 300 code for random... but maybe that plug is gapped a little different than the others??? just a suggestion but if it hasn't came back i wouldn't worry too much... does your scanner run a running data scan??? check to see if it's still misfiring slightly if it does... and pic up some MAF cleaner to try to see if that works instead of buying a new maf i would rather pick up a 6 dollar can than 100-200 for a new maf

I can get a MAF from a local guy he just wants me to bring him some budweiser, I think Im gonna do plugs and wires, I think the plugs are original so Ill see how it is. It has ran great lately but today it was very cold so Im hopeing that was the problem. How do you do an idle re-learn?
