Default 6.0l heads

questions is, is it worth it and will i gain anything!!!? just looking for a little input because i searched and really couldnt find anything!

I have a 1999 ls1
ls6 intake
long tubes
slp maf
150 wet shot
slp lid and all

Im going to go with the polluter cam!
but questions is my couzin just bought a 6.0 litre to build and got a set of stock aluminum 6.0 heads, would it be worth putting the 6.0 heads on with my setup? any power gains with them? and what exactly all has to be done to interchange the heads?

thanks..... ive heard there about the same as the ls6 heads!
thanks again guys!

Unless you mill the 6.0L heads you will be loosing Hp due to the bigger combustion chambers that will lower you compression ratio. Many like me run them to drop the compression for forced induction. Also nothing special has to be done to the heads to mount them on a ls1 all lsx based heads will fit.

Are they 317 Heads? If so they are pretty much the same as an LS6 Head, just the Truck version, so they are lower compression.

Unless you are using them for forced induction you will want to mill them to around 64cc,to get your compression back up.I use 317 heads because I got a killer deal on them and they were already milled, ported and polished and new valves. They are similar to ls6 heads. If the price is right why not.
