Default Another LSX cam question….Seriously this one is different

I have a complete LS1 (out of a 2001 Z28) with a LS6 intake married to a 4L60E automatic transmission that I am preparing to install into my 1984 Corvette.

My plans for this car are to get it down to about 2,800 LBS and get as much horse power to the wheels as possible while still having a car that is somewhat “drivable”. This car will not spend time at the strip (and if it finds its way to the strip it will be on street tires). Most of the action this car will see, is going to be from a 30+ mph punch. Ideally I would like to be able to treat a stock C4 like a redheaded step child and inch away from a Z06.

I plan on keeping the LS6 intake, the factory bottom and replacing the heads with LS6 heads. I will also upgrade the throttle body, injectors, and run headers onto mufflers with a dyno tune.

My question is: Can anyone recommend a cam for this type of setup?
Also, are you running a similar setup (LS1, LS6 intake and heads etc)? If so what kind of cam are you using and have you had the car on a dyno / what kind of RWHP are you getting?

I am also very interested in any other modification you can recommend.
I know there is a lot of way to get huge horsepower out of the LS1. The key to this build is keeping the factory lower and using the LS6 intake and LS6 heads.

I am going with a 3,000 stall torque converter

Thanks

LOL I was thinking the same thing.

You might want to talk to someone and have them spec a custom cam for you. Give them your goals for the car and they can tell you what you need to get there.

The stock bottom end should handle anything you can throw at it as for as stock cube N/A power so that shouldn't be a problem.

Are you going to be having longtubes fabricated? If not, I'd recommend the CheaTR and some spray. Unless you really want to stay N/A, in which case I'd go with a custom cam to get around the manifolds. Try to use some better factory manifolds (LS7?) if you can't get LTs.

Going with the Speedhound option http://www.speedhound.com/header/C4LSx.html unless you have a better source.

I am thinking about a 100 HP shot...
