Hey Man,
You are going to need to post up some more info.

What are you looking for?
-How high do you want to spin the motor?
-What kind of power?
-Stock Heads or ported?
-What kind of idle are you looking for?
-Are you going ot have the car tuned?

the best advice i can give you is, come in this forum as often as possible, and read every single post made- whether it looks related to what your looking for or not
just 2 or 3 months ago, i didnt even really know much about duration , much less what kinda cam i really wanted
but now i've got a really good idea where i want my car to go with the current buildup
ya even learn how to install stuff too, which goes a long way

IMO, you can't go wrong with a good medium sized cam like a 224. Too small a cam isn't worth the effort to put in; too big can kill driveability and low end torque, and peak and too high of an rpm. LS1 engines seem like about any cam you through at them because they have a good head desigh from the factory. But even so, there are gains to be had from a good set of properly ported heads. Porting on these heads is said to be different than on the old SBC, so make sure you get them from a good source.
