Default 233/239 cam with 135k miles?

Well instead of putting my 6.0 and turbo into my TA this winter, im just going to do a cam-only setup(buying a house instead ). I really like the numbers/driveability/etc that ive seen out of the tsp 233/239 cam. lift on it is a hair over .600 (i believe its .609). I will be shifting at about 65-6600ish. Only problem is my motor has 137k miles on it. It holds great oil psi, and has no problems what-so-ever (minus a little piston slap on cold mornings). Would it be worth my time putting the cam in this motor? honestly if it blows up it wont be that big of a deal since i have the 6.0 sitting on the engine stand. I'm just looking to achieve 400ish rwhp with cam only, boltons, and LS6 IM....wont be spraying it either. thanks

If the engine is in good mechanical condition and you install the supporting valvetrain parts to compliment the new cam, I see no issue with it.

+1 what he said. That's what it really comes down to.

Just make sure you get a new oil pump as well. On that many miles I would make sure not to cut any corners and do the little extra stuff to make sure your investment in the mods lasts you a while

You should be pretty close to 400RWHP on an LS6 intake. I had that same combination and put down 398RWHP w/ bolt-ons (LS6 intake) and a crappy tune. The one thing I didn't like is how much time I spent tinkering in HPTuners trying to get the car to not buck at light throttle/low speed times. Other than that it pretty much screamed above 4K rpms and lopes like crazy through a cutout!

Oh and I ran comp 918's with Ti retainers with that cam for about 15K miles before selling the car. The 1st version was rated a .603"/.600" lift which is fine on 918's.
