Talking lifter tray?

This will be my first LS build. Not that im new in this hp guest(been buildin sbc bbc chevys for years). Just have a couple of ? about these LS motors. Is there some mods for the plastic lifter tray. I mean do they hold up. It just seams like a weak spot to me. I plan on solid roller 8000rpm plus for about 25 30 min of hell. Because thats how I do that

Morel lifters with link bars; these eliminate the stock lifter trays.

Crower and Jesel also make solid lifters for these LSx engines. Both have a link bar similar to the SBC and BBC lifters you may be familiar with. Jesel does make a solid lifter to use with the plastic trays though.

We modded the lifter trays, since they're pretty much a bucket for catching oil, we increased the draining capacity of them. We were spinning 7200rpm often, I'm pretty sure that's where the limiter was. As for 8K rpm, let me know how you get there. I'm interested in a similar build.

and for what it's worth, I don't think you can use the stock ECU safely past 7800rpm. If you're going with a carb then you shouldn't have an issue.
