My car dyno'd at another speed shop in CT with following mods 2000 Firehawk : SLP Air lid,Holley Power Shot, GMS MAS. MBA Shift ****. Corsa Exhaust SLP LTs,Y-pipe/cats.. Dyno # 330 RWHP 338 RWTQ

My car dyno’d at ESP one month later with the same mods: 328 RWHP and 336 RWTQ

I trust their DYNO.

Look at my numbers ESP heads and cam 3740 race weight

ESP keep up the good work.Envy is something a lot of doubters are going to have get a grip on, facts are facts, and noyzee & The chef are right.
I actually dynoed lower at ESP than I did @ NEDT before. I know for a fact that these guy are not lieing to me,specially since they are the first to inconvenience themselves to help there customers, and the last ones to admit that they were inconvenienced simply because they love the sport, and are loyal to their patrons, whom by the way appreciate them for it.

Envy? I dont think so. No one said they were lying. We all know there good guys. But dynos differ and so dont certain factors. IT was just more of a "dont get you hopes up thread" Cause you did 430 dont me a thing. You could have a factory freak. Wasnt a knock at them at all. And for the record, two cars that have dynoed no higher than 412 have gone 11.8 and 11.9 at 3700 and 3550 weight. Both over 118.

I guess that I just took it the wrong way, only because the way e-mails are worded when it comes to the mention of ESP. If I took it personal, I apologiize. It's just that I want it to be clear, these guys are real good people and know their stuff.

the bottom line is we all have seen cars go fast at the track and say wow then find out he has less power than others and wonder why this guy is so much faster
there are SEVERAL factors to figure in when trying to compare a dyno # and track results

alot of it IMO is people all push their car to certain limits that they set and feel comfortabe with then there is that guy that goes out there and tries to kill it every run with out regard to breaking things and he might go faster with less power
and alot of people just dont have the seat time to get good and consistant with their cars

anyways im done with this.....

have fun at the track this weekend
as i got to go to my sisters wedding

B-man, it is good to see you in on this and I appreciate your input.I'm not saying the dyno is different at all. It's a tuning/computer relearning problem..B-man, have you redyno'd your car at ESP since the Edit tune?I would like to know those #'s on the first pull. There is a good chance you will be down hp that will have to be tuned back in.

I ESP for going out of there way to help the customers.I would never go out of my way ,stay late,or work on my day off(birthday)to make a customer happy.

I have to say to this, 11.8's @ 3,700. Fine, But as chef said, Driving. B-man got his car back, and went 13's!!!!!!!! Next run out was 12.8, next track time, 12.6 next, 12.4, Last time, 12.2. And NEVER CHANGE A THING!!!!!! Just seat time!!!!!!!! Thats it. No power shift, no weight reduction, no nothing. Just seat time!

Hey B-Man, 11's this Sat!!!! Show em up!

Gees I just found this thread

The Chef can you find out when I emailed Ken about my low dyno number and asked him about doing a ESP cam in my car he never replied to me. I was planning on bringing the car back over there to have it checked out but he never replied to me so I figured he was pissed off or something.

And for the record SLOWHAWK never touched my tuning nor has anyone. Something is wrong with the car. I add a shortbelt and a cutout and have more than enough break in miles and I lose 10 HP on the dyno. I wish someone had a better idea then change the cam but I guess thats the only thing that is in question. If the so called cam is wrong, ARE will hear from me.

Marco

Not to ansew Ken's questions, But i think i know what it is. Ken is like me and alot of other people, HATE computers. E-mail is not the best way to get ahold of them. Good old fashion Phone call works much better,, And i like that, I hate this e-mail **** even if it is the "New Wave".
Anyway, Im sure ESP would do what they have to to get your car right.
Call them up

well Marco we all think the SLP headers are holding the car back especially with a cam that big, i dont remember if you have a ASP pulley or not but if not that will also help, next time you come up let me know in advance and i will take one my ESP ported TB off my car and we can see how your car reacts
either way lets first check the car now that the motor has some miles and let kevin check the tune and go from there....as for the email Ken is running around and its always better to call him at the shop, 1-203-269-1539

just to shed some light on slp headers, I dynoed with them, bought hookers and dynoed again and it did not change 1 HORSEPOWER!!!! Save your money marco Slp's are fine. Tracer has them and hes over 400rwhp. Something was most likely wrong in the ARE motor. Have you done compression test or a leak down. Start there. I would be real surprised if your heads and cam where causing it

I agree that there is a bigger problem than a Cam change.Don't think it's the Headers holding back either(Tracer runs them with good results)A leakdown/compression check could shed some light on this.
