MTI C2 or X1, help me choose!
It's imperative that the car still be driveable car around town.
Car is a 2002, LS1 M6 with the usual bolt-ons, HPIII programming and FLP Longtubes.

I would think there would not be more than 20 RWHP difference between these two cams (all up high in the RPM Range). On stock heads you are probably only looking at 10 RWHP more from the X1 over the C2, maybe less.

It makes killer power at a livable RPM. The X1 is a bog cam and if you were to get all out of it that it had to offer... you would have to spin your motor very high.
I run my X1 over 7000 rpm's.
The C2 will make good power and if you shift at 6700 you would be in the meat of the power band. (in general)
ALWAYS go smaller than you think you should.
Good luck.
X1 Idle
my dyno is in my signature....
obviously I vote X1
just be sure to get the Manley springs/titanium retainers/hardened pushrods package that MTI recommends with it.
and with slicks it it not a bog cam.....
you can pull the front end up if you drop it at 4000
streets...definately 3000 and feather it out....or bog it at 2000 with good street tires..
I'm in the 12's
very well mannered on the street...my daily driver....and just push the foot down for fun....
I shift at 6500...and rev limit is 6800
The C2's power will be easier to use on the street.
Let me say, no problems whatsoever. It finds idle (set at 850) within seconds and did not die on me once over nearly 3 hours of driving. Likewise for when I cranked on the A/C. At cruise I barely realize its not the stock cam... until I hammer it. Its definitely a HP cam, seat of the pants meter doesn't register much difference until around 3000, but whoa after that until 6500! The car is all over the place through first, second, and into third.
I'm definitely glad I went big. More midrange torque will probably make my traction issues even worse...
