Coolant Passages into Head blocked?

Is the head gasket supposed to block all of these coolant passages from the block to the head? Do I have the wrong head gasket?

Looks like the right one to me.....stock LS1 heads?

Those are the correct gaskets. Just make sure you orient them properly(front to the front).
