coolant path?

Default coolant path?

Anybody know the path in witch the coolant flows through the engine? ive searched this and couldnt come up with a diagram or anything so if anyone knows please share the info thanks

Short version, coolant goes from pump into block around cylinders to the back of block then up into heads to the front of the heads and out to the thermostat. That's why the rear two cylinders are usually the first to let you know you have tuning issues.

thanks, and i was also wondering about the throttle body coolant does some flow into there after it has gone through the heads?

Yes, that is one path as it leaves the heads. Guess that's why I said short version above, as the heater core is another diversion as well.

That is also why you have to be careful with Cometics, they are not marked front and back so you have to go by the coolant hole alignment. Some guys have installed backwards and the rear cylinders starve for coolant as a result.

my ls1 is leaking coolant from the back of the engine on drivers side, i checket the freeze plugs and they seem to be fine, can any one help me, its a 99 ls1 . thanks
