Default interchangability questions

what kind of cr would i get from a stock lq4 with ls1 heads
what kind of cr would be safe w/ 12 psi of boost on pump gas
will the stock pistons handle 600hp boosted
if i used the lq4 heads with the ls1 cam will the ptv clearance be ok

If youre gonna go with boost, most guys just stick with the factory lq4 heads since they are similar to ls6 heads just with bigger combustion chambers, for lower compression already.

Im quite sure the ls1 cam wont cause any ptv clearance issues if installed correctly, but I would totally recommend if you are going to boost it, atleast get a decent boost cam. They will also give you good ptv clearance.

I believe guys have had 600 fwhp on stock internals. Of course forged is better insurance on boost, but Id imagine it'd handle it ok.

LS6 cam makes for a good turbo cam - lots of people running that setup, plus you can usually find a cheap takeout.

+1 on staying with the LQ4 heads, as I think LS1 heads would put you right at 10:1.
