Simple question about heads... Is it normal to had light come through between a valve and the valve seat? Not sure if anyone ever tested the seal on new heads this way. This is without the springs installed yet.
It'll probably take slight pressure to seal the valve but if you are unsure, just lap them in to make sure they contact the seat throughout the entire circumference.
