whats wrong with it??
whats wrong with it?? i have a 98 ss with bolt ons and a ms4. i changed the oil 2 days ago and when i got done and started the car i noticed a slight knocking noise, it was hard to hear since the car is so loud. i drove it around yesterday and seemed to be doing fine until i went WOT and there was nothing there like what it use to be. started it up this morning, oil pressure is fine, and when i took of it seemed like it was only running on 7cylinders and it was cutting in and out. when i pulled up to a stop sign it would barley idle at 500rpms until i gave it gas and it would take a couple seconds for it to idle up back to 1000rmps. there was no metal shavings in the oil when i changed it. the cam with the springs and push rods proabaly has less then 10k on it. i tried to listen for the knocking this morning but it was not as loud, maybe because i was in the garuge yesterday when i heard it. does anyone have any ideas what it could be? thanks.
i started thinking and maybe the noise is just the loud valvetrain and it could b running funny from a messed up o2 sensor fauling the plugs, the check engine light is on. whats the easiest way to tell if one is bad? just go up to the auto parts store and have them scan it?
