Opinions on a stock cam setup
My current goal is be to have a mid to high 7 sec car in the 1/8. I haven't run my current car since I bought it so I don't really have a baseline, but at the track the norm for a stock LS1 is 8.3-8.5.
I've got two questions:
1. For my goal (7.5-7.9 passes), do you think it would be worthwhile to upgrade the heads and keep the stock cam?
2. What heads do you think would give the most power given the cam?
I contacted a couple sponsors and it seems like the TFS As Cast 220cc are popular. They would be good if I decided to go with a larger cam, but I'm thinking they might be overkill. Let me know what you think.

I also thought something was off when I first saw it but after reading through I'm certain his car is what he says it is. I also searched and didn't see anyone else trying this so this is the only "heads only" car I could find on the boards.
I'm just trying to get opinion on whether I could get close to similar results or if his car is a freak, and if the 241s would be the best choice or could I get more for say a set of TFS heads.
I'm thinking about doing heads with a small cam on my 00 SS. That is, if my girl upgrades hers and I can steal the ones she has on her car, LOL

You can't go wrong with a trick flow head. Personally I hope to get a set of TSP 5.3 stage 2.5's on my car this year:
