Default New Lunati VooDoo Cams????

I was surfing EBAY here lately and found this company selling 3 what looks like new Lunati VooDoo cams, yet Lunati's website doesn't show these cams in there voodoo line or even there regular line, does anyone know anything about this??

Ebay Link..

http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=LS1...odoo&_osacat=0

The VooDoo cams that are shown on Lunati's website are the:

60510-212/218-.531/.531

60511-222/228-.567/.567

60512-232/238-.599/.601

These new cams that I'm seeing on Ebay are:

60513-217/223-.549/.549...Great street/strip camshaft. Good mid-high rpm power...1800-6400RPM

60514-227/233-.584/.584...High performance street cam..2200-6800RPM

60515-237/243-.600/.600...Designed for large cubic inch LS1 or LS6 engines. 3000+ converter...2600-7200RPM

All these cams are on a 113 degree LSA as well.

I'm going to be calling Lunati on Monday to check this out and I also e-mailed the ebay store to see if they can vouch for these being apart of the VooDoo line.

Does anyone also have any takes on how these three new cams could do in our cars.

Thesese are the new Voodoo LS1 grinds listed in their 2009 products brochure here: http://www.lunaticams.com/Media/Docu...09%20small.pdf

I haven't used them so I can't comment on performance.

I did once, and had not so great results. Your new grind looks close to a G5X3 grind.

A 232/240 113 in a m6 vette with headers, cai, catback. Made like 376hp or so. It was a 98. I was a turd, cam felt like it did nothing to it.

I don't think there is a 232/240 in the VooDoo cam line, who's cam was it?

I ran a couple of Lunati cams in the lt1 and sbc stuff. OK at best...I didn't see a big change coming from a smaller Comp cam. I even called the Lunati tech line 1 time and the guy TOLD me their cam with virtually the same specs as a popular comp grind wasn't even close to comp's peak power. Thats pretty bad. But I will say....Id run a lunati before Id run a Crane cam!

The VooDoo line is NOT a Lunati grind it's a Harold Brookshire grind sold under Lunati's name, Harold has been in the cam buisness for a long time and knows his stuff.

Very smart guy, but it's not always the cam guys fault when stuff doesn't perform.

Well this post looks to be a couple months old. I was researching some more on the cam I ordered and I found this post.

I just ordered the 60514 today.
Hoping to get some decent gains from it. I went to a speed shop here in Clear Lake, Texas. They recommended that cam for my set up.

The motor is being completly rebuilt (99' LS1 out of my Trans Am)
So we decided it would be a perfect time for a cam.

The car should be done by next Friday. So I'll let you guys know how the cam seems to perform.

If anyone else has used this cam, let me know what you think?

Awesome, please keep us posted, I'm still running the 222/228 cam with my times in my sig, which is very respectable, I think. I'm sure you will love the power, torque and drivability of the VooDoo line, if you need any more specifics on the VooDoo line here is Harolds profile on chevelles.com/forums.

Great guy to talk to.

Yeah those times are great.

I'll be sure to let you guys know how it goes.

Also everyone has been talking about how good Harold is when it comes to his cams.

So I'm hoping it will be a nice little gain.

Any updates? I hate to hear negative info on the 60512, I was planning on running that cam next, maybe in an LQ9.

Agreed, I've known Harold for 10+ years now. Met him through Team Chevelle back with I was still a BBC nut.

Anyway....

I am considering the Voodoo 60511 cam since it looks like my LS1 Hot Cam deal isn't going to work out.

Did you retune after installing this cam? Are you using the stock LS1 pushrods? If not, what length/brand pushrods are you using?

It would be going into a stock, low mileage 2005 LQ4 and then being dropped into my Datsun Z along with a 2004 GTO 4L60e and stock GTO converter.

Thanks!!

Yes it will need tuned, I already had stock length comp cams chromoly pushrods from before the cam swap, I ended up bending my stock ones on a stock cam, there junk.
