Default Heads only with stock limiter

If you were going to keep the stock limiter or say 6300<... Wouldnt a set of heads make more sence than a cam? Just an idea i had while out cruising today. Would love to hear some input on the idea.

The stock cam is pretty limiting...I'd at the very least consider upgrading to an LS6 cam along with the heads considering the minimal cost it takes to purchase that cam along with the proper valve springs. Plus you'd have the reliability of an OEM valvetrain...

What year shortblock are you looking to use? I have my rev limiter set to 6700 on my stock 2002 shortblock and have had no issues to speak of...you just worried about rod bolts letting go or what?

Oh not worried about the shortblock really. Just looking for different routes. Just kinda throwing the idea around.. I can get a set of ported 5.3 heads way cheap. Wondering if anyone has done some similar things.
