Yeah it all depends on your budget.

The cheapest route would probably be a forged 347. But its still not THAT cheap.

You can definitely do heads/cam and a forged rotating assembly for 5k-6k.

500rwhp on a 346ci is pretty hard without any power adder.

You can come close like 460rwhp-470rwhp a little easier.

500rwhp out of a n/a 346 will take quite alot of work. It can be done, but it is a max-effort build and probably wouldn't have the best street manners. If your budget is 5-6K why not build a stroker? You can get a forged 383 rotating assembly from tsp for $1800. After bearings/gaskets and machine work you might have $2300-2500 into the short block. Add a nice set of trick flow or afr heads and maybe a bigger cam and 500rwhp is very attainable and street friendly too.

I'm with him ^^^ stroke it, and throw on a nice set of heads with your fast 90 and lt's and you'll be at your goal. Also a forged SB will take a 100-200 shot of go gas with out even batting an eye, if you get board, lol.
