Re: Milling 5.3L heads if you mill a stock head you can increase combustion efficiency...but I doubt it'd be more than a few HP. If you mill enough to reach 11:1 you then have to start worrying about PV clearance if you run an aftermarket cam.

Re: Milling 5.3L heads I'd say that a bump in compression that slight will get you maybe 5-8 at the wheels. Don't expect much out of it. Milling too much will seriously limit the amount of cam you can choose from without getting one ground special.
