2000 or 2001 and 1998 engine differences?
I am wondering, if I were going to swap a 2000 or 2001 engine into my 1998 would I run into any problems??
Thanks

97-98 = perimeter bolt heads
99-02 = center bolt heads.
So you would need different valve covers and the the 99-02 coil pack trays.
Internally the sleeves are thicker in 99-02 motors and take more overbore.
GM also switched suppliers in 1999 I have been told, and 2001-2002 blocks are possibly the same as LS6 blocks.
