Default 5.3 help

Have a 5.3 that will be in my garage in a few minutes.

Comes with a truck manifold and LS1 intake, rails, injectors, PCM.

I want to get rin of the intakes for an LS6 and give everything a nice mild port job and find a sick cam package for it.

I don't want to put a ton of money into it because I have plans for another motor, this is just temporary while I build the chassis.

Car is just a fun Saturday night car, looking for something very radical and barley streetable.

Allready have nitrous for it, will have some DR's, big stall, 4.10's or so, ect ect.

Looking at MS3 spec'd cams and up.

Can swap pistons if need to. Would go with a Vic intake but the new motor will need a super vic.

Bottom end will be stock minus rod bolts if need be.

Thow out some ideas.

You're going to be limited on power potential because the bore is fairly small on a 5.3. I'd get it bored out to LS1 size and put in some high compression forged pistons.

The buddy that I am buying it off of said he would ditch the pistons and punch it out so thats the plan.

What kind of compression can I squeak out of it with a factory stroke?
