Default PushRod advice

Just finished up my buildup and the engine has some valvetrain noise. It has new lifters and .105" preload. That preload is with 7.4 length, should I swap the PRs for the 7.35? Would that quiet down the noise or make it worse?

My question is which is better and why..... 0.055" or 0.105" preload?

I think the preload is fine and not the source of you noise. 7.375" is also available as an option. Trend has them on the shelf and they also make them for Comp, which are more money and harder to find.

AH....Texas Speed doesn't list that length on their website. Thanks

It is available. Or, you can call Trend pushrods as they have them and make them for a lot of vendors, including Comp. I needed 7.475" and couldn't find them anywhere, Trend had them to me in two days.

I got a question for you all. I've got an LQ9, with some 317 heads milled to 68cc (from 71) ready to go on, stock cam. I currently bought some 7.4" hardened pushrods. Will these work ok?

I don't know exactly how much was milled off the heads but Im guessing about .020" so the pushrods would effectively be 7.42". I've been told the stock pushrods are 7.395".
