Head bolts different lengths for different years?

Default Head bolts different lengths for different years?
My question is does the year of the block or the year of the heads determine the length bolts that you use?

different years had different lengths on the 2 outside bolts

The block will determine which bolts to use. If I remember correctly, the 04 and up are different.

04 and up are all short bolts. before 04 they were short and long bolts.
