mileage i got a 2002 formula a couple of months ago. the last time i filled it up, the needle was at half and i had only traveled 90 miles. firebirds have a 16.8 gallon tank so 90 miles divided by 8.4 gallons, thats about only 10.8 mpg?!?! does everybody else get such bad mileage with their cars or is it just me?
How many gallons did you actually pump into the tank? You can't go by the gauge to determine how many gallons have been used. Is the car stock? If not what mods are done to it? Six speed or auto? My car would average about 18-19 mixed driving and 23-25 highway.

You can't calculate mileage by the gage. Zero out your trip meter when you fill up. Drive for a while, fill up again. Look at your trip meter and divide the miles driven by the gallons it took to fill it up.
You don't say what mods you have. 10 MPG is about right for me around town. Stock it got maybe 17 and 26 on the highway.
