Any reason you don't want to change the stall?

It will be the same price or cheaper if you do the labor yourself, and you will have more of a gain.

Time, money and pain. I am just looking to make some nice power and have a choppy idle to it. Nothing crazy, Not looking to set any records

I dont understand your comparison, I am not looking to one or the other. I am putting in a cam but keeping my stock converter.

So you are running 11.9 with you setup? I am just going to do that exact setup.

I have a '99 SS. I am ordering pacesetter LT's soon with a TSP true dual kit.

Who sells the yank ss3600 converter?

It's a pretty mild cam, should work great in your situation, don't be disappointed if the idle is almost as smooth as stock.

If you're not going to put a stall in your car, this is probably the biggest cam that you can run.

Yea, that what i heard. I am undecided. it might just be better to hold off till i buy a converter. Is that cam noticable at idle or will it sound stock ?

Well what are you looking to gain from the cam? Are you just wanting the choppy sound? The cam you stated is not going to have a very noticeable loop to it. Granted i guess it all depends on your tuner as well.

But if you ever did plan on doing a converter down the road, why not just hold out till then and get a cam that will work great with whatever stall you want.

But i know its hard to just sit and wait hehe, im horrible at doing it myself.

It may be slightly noticeable, but nothing too choppy. If you're going to go with a stall later on, hold out for a bigger cam.

^i think it would be alot more than 5hp, its not much more lift but 8*/8* would see at least 9-10HP and even more on a 90/90 setup.... maybe 5HP through ls6/ 12 bolt?
