Default Lifter Tray Modification Question

While I’m changing my Cam, I guess now would be a good time to modify my Lifter retainer trays with a ½ inch hole above each lifter.

My question to ya all is are you guys drilling a hole on the down side only? Or are ya doing both sides of the tray?

Are you sure that you want to do that?

Only the side that faces the cylinders. The other side is pointing up, so it won't help to drill it. I drilled mine over a year ago during a cam/head change and haven't had any issues since. Car is a daily driver.
