Default Rod Bearings

Since I'm gonna have the oil pan off while doing the Katech Rod bolt's I was gonna replace the Rod Bearings just to be on the safe side. My question is what is everyone running? I just need a STD bearing...I was kinda looking into some Clevite's

standard bearings 663P's

I wouldn't recommend replacing them cause you have the pan off, not the first time
i've seen someone replace them that way..

Iv heard of a few people doing this. Im doing it myself also. They say its a crapshoot in vegas. About 1 out of a 1000 motors have issues. And it cant be too tight with a crank that has miles on it, it anything with new bearings and higher torque bolts, it would get it right back to stock specs. Just throwin it out there. Ill be doing the same thou so ure not the only one.

alot of times what you can do is when you take the bearing out of the rod you will be able to see what size they are either on the inside of the rod which is an impression from the bearing or on the back of the bearing. mine you could see plain and clear.
another thing is if the motor has been rebuilt and the crank has been turned the machine shop should have stamped it 10/10 or what ever the first number is the mains and the second number is the rod journals. i went with clevite 77 bearing myself and have used those brand of bearing in about 6 different motors. always a good bearing!
