Default Tsunami Cam

I'm interested in this cam with a head package from TSP. I'm thinking about stg 2.5 ls6 heads or stg 2.5 5.3L heads. Is the $270 price difference in the packages worth it?

I've seen the thread in the dyno forums with ls6 heads but would like more input.

My mods at time of install will be
Lpp headers/td
3.42 gears
Ls6 intake/tb
42# injectors

The difference is in the spring price...and checkout the dyno section. A guy just made 475rwhp with this setup!

Lol I already have seen that thread as I mentioned earlier.

The price difference isn't springs. That difference is with the same springs on both.

But I was asking more how well each head matched up to the cam. I'm more or less trying to justify the difference since I am on a budget. But if the ls6 is better I will spend more

well its a high revving cam right? Lots of peak power? Seems like you would need a head that performs well at high RPM's and moves alot of air.

Now you get to get into the which is better ls6 or 5.3 debate

If it were me Id probably go 243 heads with that cam. It seems to be that the 5.3's make low end torque, 243's make high end power, and a nicely done over set of 241's are right in the middle.

The heads feature the same springkit, the difference in price is the castings. In my opinion it really depends on what you are doing with the car. If the car is more of a street car I would recommend looking at the 5.3l heads. With the smaller runner and smaller combustion chamber you will see better low end and midrange power. Whereas with the LS6 heads you will see a bit more peak power because of the larger runners, which would work better for more of a track car. Feel free to PM me or give us a call at the shop if you have more questions.
