GRP Rods
Hello,
First off, I searched this and did find some info but I didn't get an exact answer to my question. I have also contacted GRP, but have not received a response.
I am looking into the high end GRP aluminum rods and on their website they do not list a LS1 specific rod. My question is, are guys like Hunneycut and Judson Massingill and anyone else who is using the GRP rods using SBC rods or are the rods these guys are using machined specially for the LS1 on center application?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Exactly what part of the rod would need to be machined to make it an on center rod? I feel somewhat retarded that I can't grasp the concept of on center connecting rods.

The "big end" or rod journal end needs to be centered under the beam and pin end. Just tell GRP that you need it for an LS1 engine and want it for on center. Also make sure that the bearing tangs are still in the normal SBC location though or you will have issues or have to run a narrowed bearing if they center the tangs as well.
