6.0 stroker questions
6.0 stroker questions Alright... I've searched and I still have question(s).
I have an LQ9 I'm going to build up 402/408. I have a 4" crank and 6.125" rods (still need to get pistons). I'd like to know what needs to be clearanced.
I've read that 383 stroker builds need to clearance for the rod bolts. Is this the case for 6.0 and all other blocks?
I know that the #8 piston needs to be clearanced for the reluctor ring. I also know that many piston manufacturers already include a piston clearanced for #8.
I'd like to have the shop take care of these issues while it's there and avoid extra trips back and forth. I appreciate your expertise.

A quick search would have found quite a few threads on this. That being said, my 4.00 crank in my 6.0 block, no clearancing was necessary on the block. I have found out that I am gonna need to shim up my windage tray however, and possibly relocate teh pickup slightly with a double roller chain.
have the rods ck'ed to make sure their on center-a lot of co's just send s/b rods, not LS1 style, and they need to be trimmed to clear in the piston-i know some of wiseco's pistons are clearanced for the reluctor
as mentioned, the windage tray needs a couple washers to space up to clear the crank sometimes

Thanks for the help. I did search but I kept finding 383/LS1 builds. I was not sure if all GenIII/IV blocks were the same when building a stroker engine.
