ms4 with 5.3 heads?
ms4 with 5.3 heads? Ok i just bought an ms4 cam from a member on here. My question is can i use stock 5.3 heads with that cam or will i run into ptv clearance issues?
Im getting the heads for really cheap (low mileage) and was planing on having them ported alittle. Ill be doing lifters, oil pump, timing chain and full valvetrain when i pull the stock heads.
im on a budget, wasnt planning on heads and cam just a cam, but i bent a pushrod and messed up the driver side head.
should i just look for a set of 243's? would those be better for that cam?

Just get 243's that are not milled and you'll be fine. If the engine is going to be pulled out, I'd just take it to a shop and have the pistons flycutt for a lot cheaper than a set of heads.
Yes they are stock 5.3's. I know not the most ideal combo, but like i said i wasnt planning on heads just the cam. If i had the money then i would be going with something much better. Now i need a set of heads. I havent bought them yet thats why im asking for everyones opinion and info.
I wasnt shure if the valves were much different in size then a set of ported 5.3's.
So i guess ill be loking for a set of 243's.
