Just went through my AFRs (new valves, springs, seals, retainers and locks), checked installed height on the first couple and it was right on the $... 1.800 give a thousandth or 2... Next one comes in at 1.848 and the variance continues from there. The difference in installed height follows the locks, not the retainer or specific set of valves. The difference of depth in which the lock sits in the retainer is obvious. I grabbed 4 random locks and mic'ed the thickness at the top and came up with .070, .070, .072, .075... Never had a set of new locks cause an issue, so I was just curious if others had seen something similar.
