Slowhawk Cam Swap Tomorrow! Hey guys
Just pretty excited about my first motor mod on my car. Its a custom Slowhawk speced grind, also going to do a P and P throttle body, tranny cooler, and lots of weight mods (egr, air, AC, front bump support) and maybe whatever else that i dont need.
Its a 230/236 604/607 on a 114, hoping for some nice power gains and track times!! too bad for my shitty ls1 intake and 98 heads.
Hoping for 34x horse and 35x torque to the wheels, who knows what Don will pull off.

Good luck, man. I just got done with my cam swap yesterday and I'm freakin' LOVING it! (I used the TR230/224). That writeup on ls1howto.com is pretty good, I followed it and didn't have any problems except one: it says to use a 1" longer crank bolt to pull on your harmonic balancer. I snapped that bolt off in my crank by following that advice. 4 days later, I had the broken bolt out, then I bought a harmonic balancer installation tool and it went on so easily. The tool cost $50 but would have saved me so much work had i only used it in the beginning. Just my .02
Sorry if I didn't mention it but he is also doing all the work, lol we have a tough crowd this year in Rhode island as far as fast street cars.. As long as I can take some atangs down ill be happy
Don got some base dyno runs with the car yesterday, and as it sits with nearly 100k miles and stock plugs/wires, it made 310 horse and 315 torque, pretty impressive for a header/lid automatic 98!
however my tune was way off with 30* of timing and an AF ratio of 14:1, he said if my car was a manual id be coming for a rebuild
