the thing i am worrying about is would you trust used valve springs? i will be using a TR224 (probably) and that is what the guy who is selling me the springs had. i know what they are good for, i just want to know if you guys would trust used springs in your car
thanks again

i wouldn't either. you never know just exactly how they have been run. IMO, it's better to just spend the extra and buy new ones for peace of mind. now, the retainers there is no problem. might see if you can get those off of him.
If you know the guy and how he runs his car - then go for it. I believe the TR224 is .563 lift which is easily handled by the 918s. If he beat on his car for those 5K miles - I would steer away from it.
But for peice of mind and starting with new products - the $$$ for new springs is worth it. At least you KNOW.
